Description

Gyeon Q2 RIM EVO is a SIO²-based coating specifically designed to withstand temperatures over 350°. It is mainly applicable on rims but also on all metals and paints exposed to heat (exhaust tip, brake calipers…).

It also has the same properties as other SIO2-based products from the Gyeon brand: great durability (6 to 9 months /10k kms), resistance to detergents (pH 2 to 11), ease of application…

Its specific composition allows it to deposit a coating film which, once crystallized, prevents the adhesion of any contaminants and forms a completely hydrophobic layer. Water, brake dust, tar, pollution… will remain on the surface.

Maintenance can thereafter be carried out with non-aggressive products and will also be greatly facilitated. Even when washing with high pH detergents, the natural resistance of the coating will not be altered.

The hardness of the protection will increase the resistance of the paint to micro-scratches.

Finally, the applied layer will improve the gloss and depth of the paint.

The Q2 RIM EVO can be applied to any type of rim (polished, varnished, matte…)

Product usage

Use
Wash your rims as you normally do using a specific cleaner and decontaminate them thoroughly (Q2M Clay and Q2M Iron).
Dry your rims.
In a place protected from sunlight, shake the bottle, then start by applying, using the supplied pipette, a little Q2 RIM on the applicator previously covered with suede.
Make crosswise movements overlapping each pass over the entire element to be treated.
Once the application has been made and from the moment you start applying the coating, make sure not to exceed 5 minutes. Indeed, the curing time of the product once applied varies between 1 and 5 minutes.
Carefully wipe the element using a lamp and a suitable microfiber (short pile).
Once curing is complete, the only way to remove the protection is polishing work.
Once all the rims have been treated, the vehicle must then be left in a warm and dry place for a minimum of 24 hours to allow the coating layer to harden (you can speed up this process by heating the treated rims for 60 minutes using an infrared heating lamp).
Avoid washing the wheels with aggressive products during the first 7 days.
You can also apply Q²M Cure (after 24h of drying) to protect the Q² RIM coating during its final curing.
Finally, it is important to note that after application, all suede as well as used microfibers must be thrown away. Otherwise, the residues impregnated during wiping will harden and your towels will become unusable. To avoid this problem, we recommend soaking your microfibers directly in hot water with a suitable detergent after the finishing phase.

Tip: you can apply a second layer of coating after one hour of application to increase the durability of the treatment!
