i7 LEATHER Top Coat Mat is a professional water-based finish designed to provide a deep, natural, anti-glare matte appearance to pigmented leathers.

Its technical formulation, based on film-forming resins in aqueous dispersion, makes it possible to obtain a uniform, flexible, and perfectly homogeneous matte film without unwanted shine. It serves as the structuring finishing layer after pigmentation and visually evens out the surface. Its premium matte finish provides an elegant feel, avoids the undesired satin effect, and stabilizes the color by eliminating all reflections.

For maximum resistance to rubbing, abrasion, and UV rays, it is designed to be subsequently reinforced by Finishing Pro.

The Top Coat Mat uses a system of transparent film-forming resins and calibrated matting agents, offering a deep and uniform effect without whitening or haze when applied correctly.

Its composition and controlled film formation time allow for:

The matting agents used provide a natural finish, avoiding any residual shine.

Use

Before any application, it is essential to properly prepare the surface to ensure a uniform and durable film formation.
Check that the pigmented surface is completely dry, stabilized, and free from residues (dust, sponge marks, solvents, oils, sweat, etc.). Lightly dull the leather if necessary to optimize the adhesion of the top coat.
If a repair (paste, stucco) has been carried out, make sure the final sanding is perfectly smooth, clean, and even.

- Application

Slightly soak a sponge pad with the topcoat.
Spread in continuous and smooth movements, without applying excessive pressure.
Immediately smooth with the clean part of the sponge to remove marks, bubbles, and overloaded areas.
Work while avoiding too frequent passes: water evaporation begins quickly.
Prefer several successive thin layers rather than one thick layer.

Application precautions: Do not overload: an excess causes stiffness and visual defects.

Always work in a constant movement, without going over an area that is starting to dry. Avoid contact with hands before complete stabilization.

- Drying

Controlled application is essential to obtain a clean, uniform matte effect without visual defects.
Touch dry: 10 to 20 minutes depending on temperature and ventilation.
Dry to the core: about 1 hour.
Acceleration possible with a light flow of unheated air (ventilation or cold air gun).

Do not handle the surface during drying, as the film is still flexible and may mark.

Always work in a clean environment, free from airborne dust, to prevent particles from settling in the still fresh film.

Recommended temperature: 15–25 °C, moderate humidity.

Important: The Matte Top Coat must be applied exclusively to pigmented or treated leather. Never on aniline, nubuck, or suede.
